In the USA, VeteransDay annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on VeteransDay.
VeteransDay is intended to honor and thank all military personnel who served the United States in all wars, particularly living veterans. It is marked by parades and church services and in many places the American flag is hung at half mast. A period of silence lasting two minutes may be held at 11am. Some schools are closed on Veteran’s Day, while others do not close, but choose to mark the occasion with special assemblies or other activities.
The military men and women who serve and protect the U.S. come from all walks of life; they are parents, children, grandparents, friends, neighbors and coworkers, and are an important part of their communities. VeteransDay pays tribute to all American veterans- living or dead, but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
There are several things to keep in mind on this day set aside to honor veterans. The best way to honor veterans is to attend a Veterans Day event.
There are other ways to show appreciation for a veteran’s service. Talk to a veteran you know. Ask them what they did in the military.
It is also important to respect their silence if they choose to do so. Let your children and grandchildren know about veterans and their service. Don’t be shy about thanking a veteran for their service.
Don't forget to participate in the memorial parade, please respond enthusiastically this great holiday because of its great significance. Let Teeshirt21suggest you something special about this holiday and this can also be a beautiful gift for your veterans.
